You need to use the AD01 form whenever your company changes its registered office address. This applies in the following scenarios:

  • Moving to a new address within the same part of the UK (England and Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland).
  • Updating the registered office address to comply with legal requirements.

Important Details to Note:

  • The new registered office must be a physical address within the same jurisdiction as the company’s incorporation. For example, a company registered in Scotland must maintain a registered office in Scotland.
  • The change must be reported to Companies House within 14 days of the address change.
  • Once updated, the new registered office address will be visible on the public record maintained by Companies House.

It is crucial to notify Companies House of any change in the registered office address promptly. Failure to do so may result in non-compliance penalties and impact the company’s legal standing.
